''The generation of mankind is like the generation of leaves. The wind scatters the leaves on the ground, but the living tree burgeons with leaves again in the spring.'' ~Homer
Homer is named after the Greek Poet, author of Iliad and Odyssey.
It is a small village located in the northeast corner of Nebraska. It is exactly the kind of place you think it will be; a place where you know all your neighbors, and they know you.
It's the kind of place where kids play in the park, ride their bikes fearlessly through the streets in town, and chase fireflies in the summer. It's the land of the safe and the sound.
Not much happens here in Homer, which is why most of us chose to live here. We have a great school, with caring teachers. We enjoy seeing our neighbors in their backyard gardens, having coffee at the café in town, or while getting gas. We are a rural farming community, with a short commute to larger cities.
It's a great place to live, and I'm happy to call this place my home.
One of the advantages of living in a small town are the creative ways we find to entertain ourselves and our neighbors! Check out the local events for some great family fun......
